did you also grow up believing in certain superstitions

growing up my family did used to believe in old wives tales / old superstitions, which caused me to be superstitious as well, example- the magpie superstition used to be one we would always think was true....so, if you see one magpie by himself, it was bad luck, ' one for sorrow'?.....but if it was two magpie's; ' two for joy', and so forth..


we're not superstitious anymore, but we once were a long time ago..

Yes, I still not walk past a single magpie without asking “Hello Mr Magpie, where is Mrs Magpie?” to avoid bad luck.
My working adage is; If it’s not science, it’s superstition. As children of The Enlightenment, we can demand strong evidence before committing to belief.
