Hi all supernaturals out there. What are moon cycles and their meaning on what they do for shifting into a wolf ?

My earlier post below comes from the 1941 Universal studios horror film, The Wolf Man starring Lon Chaney, Jr.

Chaney portrayed this role in several films that were to follow:
1943 Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man.

1944 The House of Frankenstein and House of Dracula.

1948 Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

Lawrence Talbot is a tragic 'Everyman' character who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was attempting to rescue a damsel in distress, but was unable to save her life. His reward? Being bitten by a werewolf and now becoming a lycanthrope.

IMO this a great movie. I suggest you watch it, as well as those that follow.

Now, Universal years before, in 1935, made a different film about lycanthropy: The Werewolf of London, starring Henry Hull. Hull plays botanist, Dr. Wilfred Glendon, who goes to Tibet seeking a rare flower that only blooms during the full moon. As he is about to reach for this rare discovery, he is attacked and bitten by an unknown beast. He returns home and in time, turns into a werewolf, endangering his wife and others.

This is another excellent movie but you will easily see the differences between it and The Wolf Man.

I hope I have piqued your curiosity on these classic films and enjoy them as much as I do.

As Hurricane Idalia makes landfall in northern Florida on Wednesday as a major hurricane, a rare full blue moon will play a part in the storm.

The full moon will be in full force, creating higher tides as this storm rolls into the area.

These higher tides, also known as king tides, occur both during new moons and full moons when the gravitational pull is highest from the sun and moon puling in the same direction on earth.

Some tides could be a foot higher than usual due to the full moon. This is in additional extremely dangerous storm surge and even higher tides due to the massive hurricane.

This blue moon marks the second full moon in August and the last Supermoon of 2023.

In the past, long past, I believe it affected women's menstrual cycles. It affects tides, and some less advanced cultures believe that it influences things such as crop planting, fishing etc. Werewolves are old hat. Most mortals fear you no more.

A quote from the 1941 The Wolf Man:
"Anything can happen in a person's mind."

The brain is a powerful thing and can even produce delusions.

The original concept was that Larry Talbot only 'saw himself' as a werewolf, with fur and fangs and claws...with no physical transformation ever happening, except in his own mind. A wise script writer, no doubt with support from the director, as well as the studio, decided that a physical transformation from man to lycanthrope would happen. With the genius of make up man Jack Pierce, and the great acting by Lon Chaney Jr. The Wolf Man was born.

Lawrence Talbot knew a bit about lycanthropy and the cycle of the full moon.

Old Legend: "Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf, when the wolfbane blooms and the Autumn moon is bright."

Gypsy prayer at death of an afflicted lycanthrope : "The way you walk is thorny, through no fault of your own, but as the rain enters the soil, the river enters the sea, so tears run to a predestined end. Your suffering is over. Now you will find peace for eternity."

Moon cycles are the 28 day lunar cycle. In astrology, the Lunar cycle is said to give more precise calculation.
About turning into a wolf on full moon, absolutely no idea.

But if you really want to dwell deep into occult techniques to transform in to a animal form, you should refer 'Odi' technique of souther India. Practicing these despicable Occult techniques will distorted the nature of once soul. But it is possible.
