Here's what i see as a problem with heaven. Feedback appreciated

So you've made it to heaven. Well done!
But when you get there, you find out that your husband/wife or children or some other person dear to you hasn't made it in.

How do you enjoy paradise knowing that person who is dear to you is suffering?
Or is your memory of that person erased and if it is, would that be a desirable circumstance? Would you want that person you loved to cease to exist for you?

Thoughts?

Perhaps, those are the tears that God wipes away from thier eyes ?

And God will wipe all tears from thier eyes and there will be no pain nor death.

Not pretending to know ,that was just my first thought.

It says the old things will pass away and all will be made new.
@Justmeraeagain

Is that a desirable circumstance though? It seems to me that, that amounts to a divine lobotomy.

@Pikachu Not if all things are made new
@Justmeraeagain

What's the difference between "all things are made new" and a holy lobotomy?

@Pikachu lobotomy suggest you have no personality nor future.
Christians have decided that they wanted a future in heaven and with God .
Yes, they'll cry.
When a loved one dies in this world you mourn and then you live on.
Christians believe you'll live on.
Perhaps, that's why hell is called the second death.
As I stated at the top of this discussion I don't pretend to know it all.
We have been respectful to each other and hope we end on that note.
@Justmeraeagain

I use lobotomy not as a 1:1 analogy but to represent that one's mind has been irrevocably altered from the person you were by an outside force.

I'm not asking you to have all the answers but i am interested in your personal answer.

How could you live in bliss knowing someone you loved was suffering in pain?

Or how can paradise be a place where you have lost forever a person you love?

@Pikachu I personally wouldn't think lobotomy.
You'll either forget or be sad.
Forgetting seems more mericful and the idea of wiping away tears from eyes implies compassion to me.

Forgetting seems more mericful

Think of the person you've loved the most in your life....thinking of them?

If they didn't make it into heaven with you...would you want that person to be cut out of you? Excised from your memory?
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Pikachu we won't agree ...if you don't remember how can it bring you pain?
If you die and don't exist anymore you won't rember them either.
@Justmeraeagain

if you don't remember how can it bring you pain?

It wouldn't bring you pain. But would you want that?
Just be honest with me. That person you love...would you be ok with even the memory of them being taken from you?
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Pikachu Already experience the death of my mother .
In this world no.
I am honest.
You asked how you could stand it , I gave my answer.
Continuing to debate will change niether of our minds.
My last thought on subject for this thread
@Justmeraeagain

I'm sorry to hear that.
I wouldn't want to lose the last i had of that person either.
So i think actually we are in agreement.
Have a pleasant evening.
