@Ferise1 my childhood was no metaphor. I live in hell. I lived in fear every day, I has beaten, starved and made to feel like I was worthless and I would be better off day. So that was my hell.

@swirlie Jesus described it when he talked about the beggar Lazarus and how the rich man who never gave charity to Lazarus ended up in hell suffering in great heat... You should read the Bible some time especially the 4 Gospels..

lets see Lazarus... Gospel of Luke chapter 16 if you wan to look it up..

What Jesus was referring to with Lazarus experiencing hell, was the hell of guilt that Lazarus would feel from not giving charity.

Hell therefore, was the burden of a guilty conscience, hell was not a den of fire that Lazarus would end up in after his life had ended.

@swirlie Nope.. Read the actual passage Lazarus was never in Hell.. Lazarus was with Abraham. Lazarus was being comforted, he was happy.. Again i encourage you to read the actual Bible..

Hell described in the passage was not symbolic.. It was Actual.. An actual place of suffering , of physical torment.. People trying to interpret it as you are trying to do are putting forward a false interpretation..
