No, never. My religion has never played a part in it. However, I don't talk topics of god and jesus which seems to make things difficult for both me and the religious person I'm talking to as it makes conversation difficult when the things I am interested in are "Why things work." and their answer is "God makes it work."
So in that way, religion is a barrier to mutual discussion. That would most probably end the conversation with that person and any follow up if it goes like that.

Well when chatting to strangers from all over the world online, I could tell sometimes that their religion or beliefs were very important and that they thought very differently to me. If we knew each other in real life then a relationship wouldn’t have worked out because of that and one of us would have dropped the other. The people I know at home though are from my community and we live in similar ways.
Yep but that's not a problem. I don't have a problem with people of different faiths. Salvation is not about what denomination or special group we belong to. It's about God's promise to save us and His sacrifice to reach the whole world for salvation.

i am an atheist i have not been dumped because if it but have been turned down becasue of it a lot. I learned to put my non belief in God on the table early in courtship because it really mattered a lot to most women I met. I figured it was unethical to hide it till later given how often it was a big deal. I have dated a lot of women who believed in God but the ones I did date were not bothered that I did not believe in God. I live in the USA for context.
But as just interesting while it is a large barrier to relationships it has almost no impact on friendships. I have lost very few friends nor have not had my ability to form friendships, with either gender based on my non-belief. As a matter of fact the vast majority of my friends are Christian.
In the online atheist communites I interact with a number of long time married people came out as atheists to their spouses and it is often a disaster to their marriage. It was often a situation where they married their spouse as a believer and became an atheist during the course of the marriage. Women in those stories were much more upset by an atheist husband than vice versa.
I remember one story though, which was heart-warming were both of them became atheists during their marriage but were afraid to tell their spouse because they thought it would end their marriage. They eventually told each other and of course it did not end their marriage.

Yeah i have been shunned by atheists because i am a believer and i have been shunned by religious people because i believe their way is false.. So both types of rejection i have experienced..
No, but if they felt that way then I'd be more than happy for them to drop me

You're born into the religion. It is not a choice. Compared to other options they have/had historically speaking، it may look appealing. And there are positive aspects that can be derived even from Islam. Some women find those more in line with their nature. What you're referring about heaven doesn't exist in the Quran. It is based on hadiths and scholars, which are the aspects of Islam I dislike.
But let's be real here, following a god because you "gain" something isn't really following a god. Some people have arrived at their conclusions because of their interpretations of the world and thinking it aligns with the quran.
Also, I don't know what we "gain" by focusing on people who choose it. It is their life. I only care to help those who didn't choose it. And even if they chose Islam and need help with something that is rooted in Islam, I would help. They are my people. I am one of them even if I am not Muslim. We all have our limitations.
