Do you think God has slowly developed a major sense of humor over the last 2000 years?
The Bible shows that some of the attributes of God are anger, stern inflexibility, a monstrous ability to punish, and incredible mercy, love and forgiveness.
This is just my opinion, but I think that the Jewish people who wrote the Torah and later, the new testament, imagined God with their OWN attributes.
I pray quite bit when all is quiet, late at night, and it seems to me that God HAS a sense of humor. He is VERY loving and forgiving...and also loves music!!! Sometimes I wake up in the morning with an ear worm, singing a certain song I'll not have heard in 20 years, in answer to my questions, my feelings, or my plans. The lyrics will be so right on that I am humbled by them. I am often humbled by the LOVE those ear worms bring.
I DON'T think that God will always be a mystery, or that HE is unknowable.
