Convergent evolution on separate planets seems far more likely than a supernatural being with a personal interest in each and every person individually 🤷♂️

@Zaphod42 based on what evidence
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
@Axeroberts Based on there being a near infinite number of planets for it to happen on, but zero evidence for even minor supernatural beings anywhere
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Zaphod42 no proof of both. So you use other means to base your decision.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@LadyGrace evidence for aliens or God. I think I know which you mean
@Zaphod42 making a comment is hardly hoisting anything on anybody. Science has never perfectly explained anything. And in fact, it is now acknowledges that something cannot come from nothing. Duh! If you see a beautiful painting, even if you don't know the one who painted it, you still have to acknowledge that it didn't paint itself. There was a creator behind it, the artist. When you look in the mirror you're seeing a miracle whether you want to acknowledge that or not. You wouldn't be here if it weren't for God. You sure didn't get here by two rocks colliding in the sky. What nonsense. In fact, nothing got here except that God created it.

Exactly the problem you run in to.
Say there no proof of god, say there’s no proof of alien life
Then what criteria do you use for god ? Life has observable examples. God doesn’t. Since you have no actual evidence, how can you justify your belief ?
Clearly , you have some reason, that’s the debate. How to validate your faith.

@DocSavage but some people cannot accept why I believe. And that's fine. But it seems obvious with the same evidence the criteria changes. No proof but you believe in aliens based on the numbers but you won't accept a person's feelings as equal criteria

@Axeroberts
We know that life exist, we know how it evolves. We’re the living proof of that.
What, have you got that shows a creator god is even possible ?
Nothing.

@DocSavage nothing to you

And fantasy and illusion to you.
Why are creationists always so afraid of their own beliefs ?

Do you have any concept of how incredibly ridiculous that statement is ?
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@DocSavage do you not use your gut feeling. But for people who have had an experience there is no real way to describe it
@Axeroberts
Gut feeling? Our gut feeling sometimes tells us wrong. I would rather trust in the promises of Jesus. That is Solid Ground. No guessing about it. There are some people that sincerely believe that we can get to Heaven by good works, yet Jesus said just the opposite in His Word, so that makes them sincerely wrong. That's a dangerous place to be when your soul is at stake.

@LadyGrace the gut feeling I am referring to is the person's gut feeling. Atheists don't want to acknowledge this gut feeling. They bury it with their logic because they are threatened to acknowledge what this gut feeling is actually telling them
@Axeroberts yeah I know. Gut feeling couldn't mean anything else. That's what I was talking about as well
DocSavage · M
@Axeroberts
Do you have any concept of what you are talking about ?
You have a “gut feeling “ a creator exist, and you expect us to take that seriously ? Ignore all the physical evidence that contradicts it. All the logic and reason that is against it. And accept the existence of an omnipotent/omnipresent super being, simply because you feel it ?
Why not simply say, you have faith ?
You’re trying to separate yourself from religion, it still comes out the same in the end.

@DocSavage of course I have faith. God has done such amazing things for me. I am very blessed

@Axeroberts
Am I now to understand that the creator takes a special interest in you ?
That’s another characteristic of religion.

@DocSavage it's the characteristic of a loving Creator. And I guarantee He takes an interest in you too

I doubt very much that if such a being did exist, he wouldn’t even know I was alive.

@DocSavage if I know you're alive He does
