Is the Abrahamic God the only one?

What if the true Being that created everything is not the Abrahamic God as depicted by religion? Would we have to change our concept of The Creator? Would religions disappear?
Here's what God has to say on this subject. The Biblical story of Exodus acknowledges and affirms the existence of "other gods". It speaks of the plagues of Egypt not just as war on the pharaoh, but as a war on the different gods of Egypt: “Against all the [man-made] gods of Egypt, I will execute judgements” (Ex. 12.12).

God mentioned their "existing", but nowhere in the Bible, does it say God "created" other gods. There is no room for another god to exist, as scripture says that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present. He is without limits. If another God did exist, then God would be limited. However, the Bible says God has no limitations.

Men made of themselves, gods and images to worship. The bible states in any translation, that Yahweh is the only power in the universe and that even when He made Himself known to the holy men of old, they never saw His form or his face. Since mankind is a "seeing is believing" sort of race, they created for themselves "a god" and new gods, because they did not see Yahweh. [Deuteronomy 11:16-17, Deuteronomy 27:15 Deuteronomy 28:14 Judges 2:11, Ruth 1:15, I Samuel 7:3], the list goes on and on.In doing this, they gave themselves up to the curses talked about by Moses. They came to worship the creations, rather than the Creator. I Chronicles 5, talks about how the tribe of Reuben was given up into captivity for worshipping man-made gods andimages, I Chronicles 5:25. This is no different than worshipping the Jewish star, the cross, the golden calf, or a picture of Jesus or the Virgin Mary. These are all images some worship, rather than the true Maker of the universe and all things in it...Yahweh.

The Bible speaks only of false, man-made gods, called idols, that exist, but they have no real substance or reality. They are not "alive". As seen above, they were made from the imagination of those people who worshipped them. Man made them, then copied their doctrines from YHWH. When Moses was on the mountain from which he spoke with God and received the Ten Commandments, after receiving them, God told him to get down to his people, because they were sinning by making golden idols and worshiping them as their god, and God rebuked them.

Only one God actually exists. Further, none of the other man-made false gods, died then resurrected from the dead. Further, if another God had existed, then God would not be the self-existent, all-powerful God, He is. Two all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present beings, could not occupy the same space.

Though the Bible makes REFERENCE to false gods, it does not state that these are actual living, breathing, seeing, hearing, gods who exist. The Apostle Paul wrote:

[c=BF0000]But, then indeed, when you did not know God, you served those, which by nature, are NOT GODS (Galatians 4:8).[/c]

Scripture shows that these false gods are not to be compared with the One, true God:

[c=BF0000]To whom will you liken me, and make me equal and compare me, that we should be alike? They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance; they hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god; they prostrate themselves, yes, they worship. They bear it on the shoulder, they carry it and set it in its place, and it stands; from its place it shall not move. Though one cries out to it, yet it cannot answer nor save him out of trouble (Isaiah 46:5-7).[/c]

No Other gods Exist

The Bible is clear that although there be other so-called "gods", there is only One eternal God who exists. Isaiah wrote:

[c=BF0000]You are my witnesses, says the Lord, and my servants whom I have chosen, that you may KNOW and believe me, and understand that I am He, and before Me, there was NO GOD FORMED, nor shall there be, afterMe. (Isaiah 43:10)[/c]

They Are Inventions In The Minds Of Humans

These so-called gods were inventions in the mind of people who rejected the Truth/Truths of the one true God. Only the God of the Bible has real substance. The psalmist wrote:

[c=BF0000]Our God is in the heavens; Their idols are nothing but silver and gold, made from the work of human hands. They have hand-made mouths, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see. They have ears, but do not hear; noses, but do not smell. They have hands, but do not feel; feet, but do not walk; they make no sound in their throats. Those who make them, are like them; so are all who trust in them (Psalm 115:3-8)[/c]

This is why Almighty God said not to worship man-made gods. They cannot help us nor save us from the condemnation that sin placed on us. Only Jesus is worthy enough to do that, and was called by His Father to be Savior of the world.
God said He is the only true, living God, and told us why. So why do we need any substitute or 50 million manmade gods to take His place, when He told us He is without sin, perfect, created us and loves us beyond measure, provides, and and possesses everything we need? It's obvious that world religions cannot get one to heaven, because each have their own man-made philosophy on how to get to heaven and have ignored God's perfect Plan of Salvation. Who would know better how to get to heaven, than God, who made the plan? Are men smarter and wiser than God? Hardly. When people don't follow God's plan of salvation, they are calling God a liar, trying to get to heaven their own way and thinking they are smarter than God. That simply won't work. God did not give man that authority. He even warned the children of Israel not to make and worship idols or they would be worshiping the wrong God that could get them to heaven. That same principle applies today.

If you’re having problems deciding if there’s more than one God that created man then you do not have in your heart 100% IMO

@Emosaur It says in the Bible that God can and already defeated Satan and holds the keys to death. I do not know where those people who said God is unable to kill Satan. The reasoning as to why God is letting Satan stay in the world is in the Bible somewhere and I can't tell you exactly where to look.
You have to read and learn the Bible with an open heart.

I know you require factual and tangible evidence to believe in something and you use the logic of the world.
The Bible is hard for you to believe because it is faith based more or less. You sort of accept that when it talks about spiritual things. Spirits or souls is probably something you don't believe in either. There's no tangible evidence for that either. Until I was in my thirties I couldn't really believe there were actually adults that didn't believe in God. In my thirties when I actually encountered a woman who was getting Baptized that used to be a non-believer. She was surprised that her siblings and mom and dad actually came to see her get baptized.
I am not intending to insult you in anyway by what I say.

@Emosaur I don't know why it says that. The Bible has many mysteries not yet understood by man that will be known in full when Jesus comes again. Somekind of scholar would probably be better suited to answer that question.

Sorry that i myself can't answer your question's in full. I do not have a knowledge as deep to answer all your questions. With the limited knowledge that I do have I am answering them as honestly as i can .

I think there are a subset of individuals who need to be told how to think and act. I also think nations love these people because they can be told what to do without questioning. If nations encouraged freedom of thought (critical thinking skills) individuals would realize that "power' resides within themselves - without the aid of organized religion.

Nature is my church ~ meditation is my preacher ~ "Love one another" is my scripture.

@dontbekoi i know what you mean. Some people just need the guidance

No, religions would not disappear.
People would be offended and threatened if you challenged their belief systems.

Look at what the Taliban does to girls that go to school and infidels that are not Muslim.

If this happened, religious wars would spring up everywhere, and the people espousing the new concept would be in danger of losing their lives.

@DallasCowboysFan in today's world yes
The Flying Spaghetti Monster is the ONE TRUE GOD!!!

You just described the status quo, but religions will never disappear, they'll just get wackier.

@Axeroberts Who knows...
Mindful · 56-60, F
Possibly, but some other form of “worship” worthy idol would take its place. It seems to have existed since the beginning of time, so there is some innate curiosity and some type of common need to explain our existence or purpose, don’t you think?
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Mindful well not an idol but a Living Being. And I have found it is not about explaining our existence. In fact I honestly don't know mine and I doubt anyone really will
Mindful · 56-60, F
@Axeroberts you don’t know your purpose? Or something else?
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Mindful nope. what's your real purpose on earth?

There are even three "Abrahamic" God's. That of the Jewish Faith, the Christian and the Muslim. Each have their own "flavour" and distinctions!

Each is in a way a "concept". Concepts are always changing. We try to catch the wind with a net.

Personally I don't think Religions will ever disappear.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@SW-User maybe because God will never disappear?
I imagine the 'creator' isn't any of the gods mankind has chosen to honour.

And no, religions are the spiritual backbone, (and often political powerhouse) for social structure.

What would be too cool, would be if all the gods of all the religions appeared - and were family or some such .

😂No one would be wrong 🤪

@Emosaur so maybe another one does 🤔
Read about the Sumerian Annunaki.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@NativePortlander1970 but that is not monotheism
@Axeroberts The Annunaki predates Abrahamic monotheistic religion by centuries, which really didn't start until Moses and his ten commandments.
