If you could produce the perfect piece of art with no real labor, you would do that. AI art isn't superior because it's satisficing. It's competent, but not great. Tthe details aren't loved the way an artist loves them. It's just there to render your big picture intelligible. You can dispute that by imagining an artist attending to the smallest detail of a piece of AI art, but by that point it's legitimately art, just done with the capacities of AI. And that's labor intensive, so there's no real reason to do that other than to say you've done it. Which means, I suppose, that some AI art out there is probably art, but I have yet to see it.

Yes. Also it is stolen from real artists whose imagery and styles it copies.
The whole AI thing needs to be resisted yet many smart people keep telling us to embrace it as our future, and the tech corporations keep pushing it on us from all sides....

It exhibits a lot of detachment. I remember the generative grammar theory of Noam Chomsky; the ability to create an endless number of possible utterances from a few words. When humans do so there is much of themselves, their nature, the way they think and what they think ..all of that and more is apparent in how they come to communicate and its content. AI doesn't have that. It is all imitations and synthesis.

Being truly human is the highest art, and knowing how to feel the world in your own heart is the intelligence that matters most.

I hate AI art. Most of the times it's ugly and even when it does look good, it just feels soulless.

AI art and music are such BS scams that should be regulated out of existence
I literally just stumbled upon people trying to sell AI-generated framed prints on Etsy (which seems to allow it) ... that is so effed up (and lazy)
