An update on my body image issues

So I haven't been on in long time and just wanted to say that the last six months have been good. My small town has gotten used to the idea of me, a thin and toned teenager with very large, perky natural breasts. I still get some older ladies that look at me in disgust when I wear a tank top or crop top when it's hot out.

Over the summer my family spent the whole week at the county fair, as we do every year. We show animals and things. Anyway this year it was during the hottest and most humid week on record. So I didn't wear a bra all week, boob sweat is a real thing and it makes bras even more uncomfortable. So now I had a whole county of rural living judgmental people glaring at me and covering kids eyes. I wasn't topless or anything. tank tops and crop tops, sundresses, I was covered. I don't get it. I can't help my genetics and this country needs to get over women's breasts are just sexual objects, they aren't people. However, this did get me longer rides from the ride operators. I am pretty sure one day my crop top was a bit short and I probably exposed my whole chest that day on the rides but I don't care anymore. Oh well, just breasts, not a big deal, everyone has them.

I also got to spend two weeks in an amazing place with my Aunt. A place where nudity is accepted and woman can be topless in public. No one looked at me weird, no one made comments about my body. It was fantastic. I could be comfortable and not called a slut or an attention seeker. I hope we get visit again next year.

Your observations and feelings are real. It’s sad citizens can’t live and let live.
Glad you were fortunate to spend some time without judgement!

I hope your "body positive" attitude continues.

@samueltyler2 It has been good for awhile. I am hoping that as I get older it just won't be a thing to comment on someone else's body at all.

@SkyeDaydream that isn't likely to ever happen. Think about the many millennia of interest in the human body. I am a bit of an artist, so have been intrigued with the human figure almost all of my life. But, body shaming is bad.

I hope everyday that people learn to stop judging people by their bodies.

I hope that your journey continues on a positive path.

rural USA can be so dated in their social interaction. Don’t let them bring you down and enjoy your freedom to be you.

Good for you. Nudity is not sexy unless you make it so.
