As a Cubs fan, I’m pretty disappointed. Somehow they only managed to add 3 average (at best) bullpen arms and a utility infielder. Meanwhile, other teams went out and made some real upgrades.

Brewers fan here. Sorry in advance for your September slump.
BamPow · 51-55, M
@RosaMarie Same. I moved away from Chicago to rural Ohio, and I order that sauce online and have converted quite a few family members here. I also order Marconi’s giardiniera, Buona Beef, Vienna beef dogs, sports peppers, and Lou Malnati’s. The food around here just doesn’t stack up to home.

@RosaMarie Family is the reason I’m here. The best thing I can say about it is the cost of living is a lot lower around here. The trade off is that Ohioans wouldn’t know a good pizza if it bit em on the ass. Columbus is a pretty decent area if you’re near there. There’s at least some good entertainment and food options down there.

Well maybe they want to save some $$ to try to resign Kyle Tucker which it seems they might not be able to do.
The teams that really went all in were the Mets & Phillies ...so yeah, any team compared to their haul seems weak
BamPow · 51-55, M
@SlapHappy I have a sneaking suspicion that they’re going to let Tucker walk. They know they’re going to have to pay PCA in a couple of years and may not have the appetite to pay Tucker $500M a year before a likely lockout that could end with a salary cap. If that’s their logic, I can see not wanting a $500M contract as an immovable object if MLB does indeed adopt a cap.

@SlapHappy Plus the Astros, Padres, Rangers, Mariners, and Yankees. Maybe you just didn’t notice.

Naw. Braves had a few pieces to move but couldn’t.
BamPow · 51-55, M
@JustEd I found it interesting that they picked up Carrasco. I’m assuming they just want him to eat innings.
JustEd · 41-45, M
@BamPow yeah. Everyone’s hurt. Great rotation on the il so just need arms at this point.
RedBaron · M
The Mets did plenty, especially in the bullpen.
BamPow · 51-55, M
@RedBaron Yeah. Your team did pretty well.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
As usual the Pirates were sellers. If only Nutting would sell the team.
BamPow · 51-55, M
@SageWanderer I’m not a Pirates fan, but I absolutely hate what’s happened to that team. They play in a beautiful ballpark and have a great legacy. You fans definitely deserve better than what you’re getting from that owner.
SlapHappy · 36-40, M
Cubs did more than most teams unless you think they should just try & buy a championship like the Dodgers.
BamPow · 51-55, M
@SlapHappy I really wanted to see them snare one of the top end starters that were being floated.
RedBaron · M
@SlapHappy Not more than the Padres, Phillies, Mets, Yankees, Rangers, Mariners, Astros, and Tigers.

That’s only eight teams. 🤣
