A high portion of female professional sports people seem to be lesbian

Not saying that's a bad thing - it's just an observation. Women spending a disproportionately large amount of time immersed in a cohort of other women tend to be a lot more 'socially intimate' with them is what I'm surmising.

Similar to the nursing profession in some ways.

Not sure if similar things apply with men in job roles and sports codes that are cohorts of basically just men. It's never turned me gay working in railway shiftwork for over 35 years. 8-)
