I don't think because they deal with different categories: Atheism describing my position of belief on gods and Agnostic describing my position of knowledge of gods.

@Pikachu i agree with what you said, but I'm taking the more pedestrian definition of agnosticism which includes any higher truth, but just about friends in the sky ;)

I'm talking about agnosticism here i'm referring to the more narrow definition pertaining specifically to gods.
But i'm curious; why would these be paradoxical terms using the broader definition of agnosticism?

@Convivial An atheist doesn’t believe in deities. An agnostic has no knowledge of whether deities exist. You can also have agnostic theists, or people who believe in deities without claiming to have proof of their existence.

A gnostic atheist claims to know for sure that gods don’t exist. An agnostic atheist has no knowledge that gods exist and doesn’t believe they do either.
