What's the difference?

Aside from the obvious alleged absence of gods, what is the difference between atheism and theistic religions?

Define proof.
WhatLifeIsFor · 41-45, M
@AkioTsukino Well that is very subjective. But what i have learned that Atheist some proof based on scientific evidences
@WhatLifeIsFor That is the exact opposite of what I learned. It's an incorrect assumption or bogus sociopolitical claim.

@AkioTsukino So what have you learned?
@WhatLifeIsFor
So what have you learned?
Uh. . . . the opposite. That atheists demanding proof is bullshit. They don't. They just like to think or at least say they do.

@AkioTsukino Well, I learned about Modern Atheism that are inspired by Richard Dawkins work, they believe that theory of evolution is true because it has scientific evidence, therefore they reject the idea of God and religion.
@WhatLifeIsFor Most of the famous modern atheist authors were inspired by the 9/11 events.
WhatLifeIsFor · 41-45, M
@BlueSkyKing Well that may be the case and I agree with you that athiest point out 9/11 incident.
@WhatLifeIsFor We’ve all children of The Enlightenment. Science methodology came from this and there is no going back. Everything can demanding strong evidence before committing to belief or it will be discarded as useless superstition.
@BlueSkyKing You're always on about the enlightenment. Would you be so kind as to explain the significance of "the" enlightenment in a new thread? I assume you're not talking about Buddhism. Enlighten us, please.
@AkioTsukino Go to Wikipedia. Lots of details.
@BlueSkyKing Okay. Never mind.

So, proof and scientific evidences are subjective but heavily influence the science minded atheist.
WhatLifeIsFor · 41-45, M
@BlueSkyKing Yeh I agree, every thing needs strong evidence. but that is subjective, like theory of evolution is lacking strong evidence but there are scientists who believe in it and other group of scientists refuse it. So it is a debatable topic.

Wow! There's something I don't see very often. Honest, rational facts expressed by an unbeliever. Not many unbelievers I've come across would make such a statement.
WhatLifeIsFor · 41-45, M
@AkioTsukino Well it is a debatable topic. Science still has long journey to go. Yes proof and scientific evidences are subjective, for some information exist in DNA is sufficient evidence for existence of God , for some it is not..
@WhatLifeIsFor
Yeh I agree, every thing needs strong evidence
Jesus already proved himself. I don't know what more he could have done. After all, He gave his life for us so that we could have eternal life in heaven. He doesn't have to prove anything. He already did. It's just that some people won't accept it, that's the only difference.
