To make the long story short, I realized the religion I was part of (mostly non- denominational Christian with some Catholic roots) did not make any sense. The questions I found had no real answers. Any answers given were based on believing that a God existed and was personal and was good. And when you reach the point of questioning those very foundations there is just nothing there underneath them. Getting no answers from people, I tried to read the Bible myself. Really tried to read it. What did I find? Some inconsistent creation accounts with nothing to support them. A reasonably well kept line of geneology. A lot of God being fairly evil and villainous. And absolutely no evidence that the acts, good or evil, actually took place.
It was questions that made me a skeptic, but the Bible itself that made me a non-believer. And once inoculated against that religion, I've found all others to also fail the tests for evidence.
