I’d forgotten how good winter nights are for stargazing.

I was walking home from a friend’s house, over crunchy frosted grass and I realised the sky was completely clear. I saw planets and constellations my Dad used to show me.

I think I saw a satellite too, a slow moving light without the blinky recognition lights you get from an airliner, it passed south over the sea and faded away - I presume as it passed into the earths shadow.

Yeah its cool. I must find an excuse to go for a walk on one of those clear nights.

What you saw was most likely a satellite. It's quite common to see them if you have decent vision. I swear they must take up a single rod in your eyeballs.
