Not so much--don't believe. I understand it comes up a in dating. I feel often it is used as an ice-breaker though I never used it as an ice breaker.

I know my sign too probably for the same reason you know yours--enough women told me mine and then talked about horoscopes. It was cool though--small talk and all. Nothing wrong with light hearted first conversations.

I guess if someone believed in atrology as a valid process for understanding humanity that wold be wierd but no more odd than most religions and faiths.

I hope you do well in conversation with whomever brought up astrolog with you. Maybe just roll with it and talk about relationships with her which often is the real topic of interest to her. (on the assumption that your online dating convo's bring the topic up)

Astrology is great for making excuses and avoiding personal responsibility. Blaming a calendar date is immature behavior. Also a form of bigotry.

I have no reason to not believe in it. I'm a Virgo myself and the descriptions of it are pretty accurate. Both my daughters are Scorpios and they fit their sign too.
