My first day with the photographer is Thursday

I’m going to be seeing a little more of Amsterdam and the locale. Tomorrow I am going to Willem’s hometown Utrecht, which isn’t too far, and there is a coach-bus that goes there. Today, I’m just getting ready after my early morning run 🏃 and I’m going to look around Amsterdam more.

Looking for things to do in Amsterdam? Don’t miss the iconic Rijksmuseum, the most famous museum in The Netherlands. It's the home of The Night Watch, The Milkmaid and many more Dutch Masterpieces.

The Rijksmuseum moves you through more than 8,000 works of Dutch art and history. It’s the national museum of the Netherlands, set in a breathtaking historic building surrounded by a peaceful garden you can visit for free. From Rembrandt’s Night Watch and Vermeer's Milkmaid to masterpieces by Frans Hals, Vincent van Gogh, and Jan Steen, this is where Dutch history comes to life.

Whether you're spending a weekend in the city or just a few hours, the Rijksmuseum is easy to combine with other top Amsterdam activities. The museum is located just a 10-minute walk from the canals and shopping streets. You’ll find the museum on the Museumplein in downtown Amsterdam. It is right next to the Van Gogh Museum and just a 20 minutes’ walk from the Anne Frank house.

LOVELY EXPERIENCE IN BEAUTIFUL BUILDING WITH REMBRANDT, VAN GOGH AND JAN STEEN AS WELL AS MANY OTHER INTERESTING ART. A GREAT WAY TO SPEND A MORNING.

Busy city trip? You can easily see the highlights in an hour

Rembrandt's masterpiece is currently on display in a glass chamber while researchers carry out the most extensive study in the painting's history.
Operation Night Watch is the largest and most extensive research and restoration project of Rembrandt's masterpiece ever. The painting is almost 400 years old and therefore needs the best possible care so that people can continue to enjoy it in the future. The restoration is taking place in front of the public, in the Gallery of Honour. Curious about the current phase of the restoration?

It has been fun to watch the restoration of The Night Watch over the past 10 years. When i last saw it, they were still scanning it. Now they are removing the existing cover varnish in preparation for applying new varnish. The areas removed look.as if "greyed out." The guide said once restired the colors will pop!
