I Love Exploring Museums

What is there about a museum that captivates the mind? Is it the history? Or is it the distinct dark, musky smell? The past holds much for one to learn from. It can be troubling or majestic...either way I lose my thoughts in the halls and exhibits often wondering what these things have seen through the years and what secrets do they hold?

I think it is the knowledge that such history is stored there. The idea that centuries of experience are hanging on those walls or shelves. It makes one remember that we are all adding our stories to the wall as it were. The smell of the paper that we associate with solemn, ancient and important is part of it. But most of all it is the reverence we feel in a place that we realize has importance.

@Sorrowfulgaze How eloquently put. I relish your use of words, I couldn't have said it myself.

@Sorrowfulgaze The pleasure was mine. Very seldom do I come across someone with such a gift with words.

@MaladyRed I do my best to express the jumbled thoughts and images in my head. I am very pleased you can appreciate them. And look forward to hearing more of yours.
