Yeah, my people kinda did some bad shit. Sorry about that and stuff.
@DarkHeaven Eh? This is about the Ottoman raids on Iceland.
@BritishFailedAesthetic by pirates… pirates mean Vikings.
@DarkHeaven No..... the Ottoman Empire had a ton of pirates me hearties! ☠️
@BritishFailedAesthetic Although these raiders on Iceland in question were from Algiers, part of the Ottoman empire. So technically, not my people.
@DarkHeaven Exactly, too late to be vikings!
@BritishFailedAesthetic They we’re called the Turkish raids, but in reality… these Vikings (my people called pirates Vikings as Viking is not a nationality but a job… the job being pirating) were from Algiers.
@BritishFailedAesthetic They might have technically not have been called Vikings but that’s what they were.
@BritishFailedAesthetic I didn’t listen to all of that but I might go back and listen now. I’ve heard of it before but this seems very detailed and I’m don’t really know it in that much detail. ty

@BritishFailedAesthetic just finished it. That was really interesting. I guess it was just one singular event in Icelandic history by two groups of pirates. The one in your video was the second group from Algiers. Thank you for posting it.
@DarkHeaven Thanks, was apparently a hard translation to get a hold of!
@BritishFailedAesthetic there are many accounts of it but most of them lie untranslated. I want to ask my Da about it this weekend. He was born in Iceland. I’m guessing they might have learned about it in school.
