What do you think about art ?

Do you think art can improve the world, and change the world for the better ?

Or do you think that's another unnecessary pursue that only leads to distraction from the truth ? Another point of reference between you and I, replacing direct connection.

That's an issue that I am battling in my head for as long as I remember myself creating art. And what I do about it, and my type of solution around that so far, is taking long breaks from it and from what I think of as unnecessary creating. (...)

Define "art" lol

If you are referring to illustrative art, then I am horrible at that. I like looking at art that is pretty and beautiful but I've always preferred music, books, and adaptions that have come to life (films, etc.) I like things to speak and move, and to be continuous.

I really need new sources of information, all the time.

That's why I think there is no greater art than music. Paintings, drawings, or whatever you want to call an illustrative piece can be limited...music is a truly transcending experience and is limitless.

On the other hand, it is nice to see something that has captured moments that will forever remain. I just wish I knew what else the person or people in or creating the art were doing at the time.

I like Monet...

This is a nice painting:

@SW-User The impressionists who met regularly, including Manet, Monet, etc., were marvels at creating meaningful art. I am a bit of an amateur artist, having drawn, painted, photographed and sculpted almost my entire life, I am also an amateur musician, play guitar, piano, and trombone, currently playing in 3 local bands. these activities keep me interested in the arts, and my brain working!
