What makes art valuable?

Van Gough arts weren't so popular when he was alive. After his death, people seem love of his art even bid the highest amount of money just to have it. Why?

No one really cared about the Mona Lisa until some guy pinched it 100 years ago. Just walked in and took it. Rode the bus home with it on his lap and no one realized. The cops suspected Picasso, because he used to swap art in the museum with pieces of his own. Forget the name of the guy who actually did it. He just wanted the painting returned to an Italian Museum.. And after that, it became famous.

@Thevy29 Then it became even MORE famous when someone started a false rumor about it, saying that the Mona Lisa was actually Leonardo da Vinci in drag...🤣🤣🤣

@4meAndyou You ever read up on Da Vinci. I wouldn't be surprised if he did try Drag.

@Thevy29 I majored in art...you can't help but hear things...but later on they proved it was really Lisa Gherardini...but boy, they certainly went through a LOT...with pictures and everything to try to prove it was really Leonardo!
