I need to give myself more credit for knowing when someone isn't exactly genuine. Can you tell?

It usually reveals itself before long, but I should trust my instincts as soon as they kick in.

When you have PTSD and hurt in general, it is common to double doubt yourself, intuition and judgement. There are people who will play on that doubt. And people who do deserve little more openess.

It is not easy to decide. The only way to find out safely is by keeping a relative level of detachment from both; trusting too much and not trusting at all. Somewhere in the middle is where you can love them without the hurt part.

I think I am better off giving people the benefit of the doubt, despite my experiences. And if I am wrong , which I am plenty, I do get angry, but fortunately it melts away except in few specific extreme instances.

Everyone makes mistakes, me, them..we are all just trying to figure out how to deal with this life.

I can tell sometimes..LOL 🤣

In all seriousness, yes, I'd agree with you. Let your instincts work for you. The more you use them the better they get.

I have a pretty good freak radar. Even people I'm friendly with I may only let so close because I know something is off about them. I think the only time I had a trust really betrayed by a friend it didn't cost me anything. Just fucking weird.

I've been fooled before. I can tell now.
