National Wildlife Day

Today, Sept. 4, is National Wildlife Day.

The primary focus is on endangered species and their habitat and the need to continue preservation and conservation efforts.

The day was created in honor of wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin in 2005. It is now observed in his memory.

Posted above is a brief video of a friendly encounter between a human and a seal. It’s a sweet scene, for sure, though I might be concerned about getting a nasty infection known as Seal finger.

Thank you for this important post :D !

I am part of a community organic garden: bees and butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies and birds, and other critters are fed.

I grow more flowers than food 😀

We have also fed bunnies, mice, etc. :)))

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON You're welcome. Thank you for your comments.

I think it's great that your work with the community organic garden is helping to sustain wildlife in your area. More of us should follow your example. 🌞
