That’s definitely a starling. Did you know that they’re related to minah birds and can mimic lots of different sounds?

@Oneofthestormboys I knew someone who rescued one and raised it. It could say her name and copy a bunch of other sounds. I noticed the starlings around my house like to mimic the sound of a red tailed hawk.

@morrgin Are you sure it was after another bird? I didn’t think they were aggressive like that…
@Oneofthestormboys Maybe the camera looks like a bird.

@Oneofthestormboys I was thinking the same thing. I never saw the bird but there are these little tiny brown birds that climb up and down the sides of the old wood building our camera is on. I could hear from the audio in the recording a small bird in distress. Then the starling went in towards the camera and somewhere close behind it. I could hear them crashing around and the little bird's sound got more and more desperate until it went to the highest pitched shrill I'd ever heard and actually couldn't hear. The pitch was so high the camera audio started making a glitching type noise and then the sound suddenly cut out completely. I knew it was dead then. It was kind of disturbing.

@morrgin That’s horrible. Nature can be so cruel 😢
