P22, I still miss you.

P22 was the Henry David Thoreau of mountain lions.

He made his permanent home in Griffith Park, in LA back in 2012. But that was only after many crossings over two of the busiest freeways in LA, the 405 and the 105. It was a miracle he survived. Eventually, P22 chose to live the remainder of his life in solitude, as a lone mountain lion in Griffith Park.

What a beautiful soul we lost this year. 💜

@Rutterman He could have crossed back over to pursue the females, which is a strong drive for big cats. But he never did. He chose the life of a bachelor.
