I’m laying here in bed with my old dogs.

One is 9 and the other is 13.

Both are showing their signs of aging. Oddly, the younger one more so than the older one.

James kind of casually said to me the other day, “I think when you go, she will go.”

And I think that could be true. After all, we’ve done every big life thing together since we first met. She is my “soul dog.”

My old, best girl.

You speak so matter of factly about death. I get a lump every time i read your posts.
I know i am being mean, but i do wish and pray that your dog crosses the rainbow bridge together with you. Some solace. And still is it not all we ever want.

@WandererTony I don’t think you are being mean. I just think it’s a fair observation.

Same 😞😞it’s all so sad 😭
That's kinda bittersweet but poignant. I see the beauty in it. Following you in all your phases.

@HijabaDabbaDoo I’ve seen it happen before when dogs have been super bonded with their person and lost them.
@SwampFlower I've never seen it but have heard about it. I've seen it with humans though, animals are no different. Bonds run deep in all living creatures.
I know it's loving in it's own way, but I hate it when someone passes and the dog goes too. It's like a double whammy of heartache.

Ive never really had a peaceful moment since I lost mine. Its too hard and the grief is different.
