I used to be terrified of them then one time I was in my friend’s car driving to my birthday celebration when she noticed a spider and started screaming. I decided that to be nice to my friend I would face my fear and handle the spider so she doesn’t have to be scared. I didn’t want to delay by getting a tissue so I just used my fingers. I’m still grossed out by them but no longer scared since then. I’ve even handled black widows before a few times out of necessity. I prefer not to touch them by hand but will when I have to either to get rid of them or to pick them up and show them to people who find them interesting
