I had a tarantula for a few years. Excellent pets tbh, I'd love another
@BigAssLeech What is that like as a pet ? Are they interactive at all ?

@bijouxbroussard It depends on the species. Some are calm and more social, while some are shy and defensive. And it can vary from individual to individual based on how they were raised. My tarantula, Penelope, was rescued from somebody who wasn't very nice to her and never handled her, so she didn't trust humans and would get defensive faster than the others. Arachnids and insects can't really be domesticated in the same way that mammals can be, and stress can easily kill them, so the general rule is not to handle them often, but to just watch and admire them. I've had pet beetles and cockroaches that were very social and interactive with me though! Beetles especially have big personalities, and if they trust you, they're a lot of fun
@BigAssLeech That’s wild. I never considered insects pets. But then, as a kid I briefly fostered a domestic rat, which was unusual then, and it was very friendly.
