I Think Spiders Are Interesting Little Creatures
There are several adult cellar spiders hanging from tangled webs that grace the ceiling of my room and two of them have a few dozen young in their webs. I don't mind them, I know that they're not harmful, and that they eat insects (and other species of spiders that I'm not as fond of), but I'm wondering if the smaller ones maybe will mostly cannibalize each other soon or try to find other places to dwell. When i gaze upon a spider, half in horror, half in awe, I often suspect it as being intelligent, deep in thought, and find myself relating to its desire to live a quiet, solitary life. Despite their ghastly alienness, I never can bring myself to hurt one, and they seem to elicit a level of respect.
