Got a heart warming story about finding a good home for an animal?

Once my dog Sundance knocked up the neighbors dog. I took one of the pups to help the neighbour find good homes for the pups. Everybody that showed up to look at the pup were only interested - in having a good guard dog so I never gave them the pup. Then one day a gal in the crappiest van I ever saw showed up to see about the free puppy. When I asked her if her house had a yard for the pup to play in she said - no I'm living in bush in my van right now and I said - I can't give you the dog. Then she starting explaining that the reason she was living in bush in her van was because she wanting to get away from the coke scene so she could beat her coke habit. Then she said she was going to name the pup "Wish" because she was wishing for something to help her do that - so I gave her the pup. About a year later I saw her and her dog downtown washing store windows - she had started a window washing business. About a year after that I saw her washing windows with the dog I gave her and a new pup of that dog. Cheers and happy weekend!

I knew an extremely difficult woman of about 65. She lived alone after her husband was gone (and I’m reasonably sure he went eagerly.)

I suggested she consider a dog. She informed me she could not afford an adoption cost from a shelter. She then said the only dog she would accept was a small male neutered white dog, preferably a miniature poodle. She would name him Skippy. That weekend I drove the 200 miles to visit my mother. She told me about a friend of hers from church who was going to a nursing home, but had to find a home for her dog first.

We went to see her, and Skippy greeted us at the door. Exactly the dog Lois had described. I called Lois to ask if she wanted him. She said she’d look at him if I brought him home. I’d already decided I’d take him if she didn’t.

They took to each other like they’d known each other in a previous life. No dog ever had a better life than Skippy. Apparently she only hated people.

They died about a week apart ten years later, first Skippy, then Lois.
