Animal lovers (or not), please help me.

My brother's dog hasn't eaten anything since last Friday. He went from 100 to 0 overnight. My brother tries to feed him anything he might want. He tried to give him his anti-fungal meds that he's been taking for months. The dog clenches his jaws so tight that my brother couldn't give him the medicine. He goes outside now and lies there. He normally stays inside unless he has to go to the bathroom. Now he goes outside and lies there. He won't eat and keeps his jaws so tight you'd think he has rabies. Although, he's not wanting to eat vs the fear of water.

I want my brother to be happy, and I want his dog happy.

He's 11 yrs old. But, something happened Friday. Because, he went from fine to acting like he's dying.

Is there anyway you can help me out here?
You need to get him to a vet immediately

@Onestarlitnight The vet said it might be a GI issue.
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
@perceptivei maybe a acute pancreatitis

The dog might have lockjaw, or tetanus. Take him to the vet.

If you are that concerned, why not take the dog to the local vet for help
perceptivei · 36-40, F
@nedkelly he's seen the vet.
I feel like he knows he's dying. 😖☹️

Anal medication? I'm sorry to here about your dog. I remember going through that with my own. She ended up going blind and just stumbling around barking like she was lost. I tried to just keep her on the bed but when ever I left she'd jump out of it and start walking around. 🥺It's been over ten years and it still hurts thinking about it.

@perceptivei
Then get new one
If that vet isn't helping, get another opinion or get another opinion from an ER vet in an animal emergency room. If he's not drinking either he will dehydrate-DO NOT WAIT ANY LONGER🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔

Ask your brother what the vet said. To me it sounds like he's on his last breathes unfortunately. :/

-unflavored Pedialyte solution is typically safe to be administered orally to dogs on a short-term basis to help replenish fluids
-Also use a syrange to give it to him.. get him to lick it or put it in the side of his mouth.. His Blood suger might be low. if not take him in to the vet to get a IV
Take him to the vet. Could be any number of problems. Not eating. Vlenching jaws. Maybe related to the infection. Do not wait. He us starving. Vet ASAP.

Sounds to me like the dog needs urgent medical care. It could also be the dog saying enough. Why has the dog been on antifungal meds for months?
Skitzo · 56-60, M
Might have something stuck im his throat or something lodged in his stomack. Take the dog for an exray

A decreased appetite in dogs is often a sign of sickness, especially if your dog is exhibiting other symptoms at the same time. Although a loss of appetite in dogs doesn’t necessarily indicate serious disease, prompt veterinary attention is important because it could be a sign of significant illness, including cancer, various systemic infections, pain, liver problems, and kidney failure.

Your dog may not want to eat because something in its mouth is causing pain. Have them checked for a broken or loose tooth, severe gingivitis, and even an oral tumor.

Making mealtime a fun time for your pet, such as by playing with a toy that dispenses food or rewarding your dog with food for doing a trick.

Taking your dog for a walk before mealtime.

Changing your dog’s feeding situation. If you normally feed your pet with other animals, try feeding them alone. Or try using different bowls or plates at different heights to see what your dog prefers
