Follow up to Numbat Story

4 days ago I posted about the "Controlled Burning" of Perup National Park. Home to the endangered and Protected Numbat.

The story gathered pace and the Premier of the State was left to defend the Department of Biosecurity, Conservation and Attractions.
I was really angry at this wanton destruction so I wrote a Letter to the Editor yesterday, it was published today.

Industrial Manslaughter legislation was introduced in Western Australian last year for negligence by a Business leading to the death of an employee.
Time is right to expand this legislation to include those for knowingly endanger the lives and habitat of protected and endangered native animals.
The Department of Biosecurity, Conservation and Attractions must be held to account for the destruction of Numbat habitat at Perup.
Government Departments destroy too much of our natural heritage with impunity. No one is held to account.
Time to start a petition for charges to be laid against the people who made this decision to decimate the home of a protected species.

@Vivaci Plenty of people have spoken up to defend the defenceless Numbats.
I am livid and my next letter goes to the Department of Biosecurity, Conservation and Attraction, then directly to the Premier.
Time to stop the destruction.
You’re our hero, Gus! I’m so proud of you! 🥺🤗💜@Gusman
