I've been learning a lot about the mass extinctions and we've had so many of them. Before the dinosaurs there was one called "the great dying" where 90% of all life on earth was wiped out by insane volcanic activity. It killed all the friendly-lookin' dudes like this:

@Frostcloud I really recommend this video it.,.. weirdly kinda helps with the climate change grief. Because it lets you know how many times the earth has been through this - even though everything really does die.

@Frostcloud Yeah it's a long watch. Just when you can't sleep or something. It's a story of all the mass extinctions.

Earth has a pattern of how it takes carbon out of the air and puts it in the soil, and then it goes back into the air. When that pattern gets disrupted, everything dies.

So right now, when we take all the carbon out of the ground and burn it, we disrupt that pattern. It's cool.
