Here it’s the rooster who is active all day long. Sometimes he gets confused about when day time starts though 😂

@SW-User The entire province of West Flanders in Belgium is pretty much a farm haha
But I don’t live on one 😂😜

@kimmy159 I have never been to Belgium so I didn't know. 😐

@SW-User of course :D we have a lot of farmers in my area and lots of fields and landscapes ^^
Always been more of a fan of those than citylife.
Do you live in the city or more rural too? ^^

That would be like attempting to get Cicadas to stop singing at night.
Finding him a mate won't even help for very long. They both will just keep on singing.

@DeWayfarer the Mississippi kites migrate here very spring and summer to nest and they make pretty good use of the cicadas….they will soar around the neighborhood listening for cicadas to catch and eat

@cherokeepatti I know of nothing that did that in Texas. Perhaps bats. Yet that's a different method.

@DeWayfarer the kites have more babies every year so their population is munching away on those crispy cicadas. I love it when they return in the spring.

About 10 years or so couple of years in a row the birds were going nuts singing at 1 am-3am. I couldn’t take it. But it stopped now. It was like their biological clock was completely out or something.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@InHeaven mockingbirds are bad about that

Has the temperature dropped? It may be related to the temperature change.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PatKirby just a bit

@cherokeepatti
I recall this from science class...
Count the number of chirps in 15 seconds and then add 37. The number you get will be close to the outside temperature.

@Azlotto we had one at the car lot. Just don’t shoot anywhere near metal like a wood-burning stove. It will start to rust, can be taken care of by oiling it down but salt is corrosive to some metals.
Azlotto · M
@cherokeepatti I would load mine with sand.

@SW-User no way in hell. The outside of crickets has a substance that is worse than gluten for digestion.
