Might have been looking for a nest site, and if so, a solitary not colony bee species.
I think most species of bees and wasps live solitary lives apart from mating. I saw a leaf-cutter bee taking bits of leaf into a hole in my garden wall, a few days ago.

Had bees coming from a tree in the front yard..but one BEE😒 Hes drunk and lost..and outside

@bookerdana that bee is a woman, the queen bee probably if its big.

@Matt85 If it were it would be surrounded;,they move the nests occasionally...never see a singleton
