It's not a lie in so far as some people born one sex genuinely feel they are emotionally of the other.
Physically of course they can't change. They were born either male or female (apart from the very rare, and non-productive, hermaphrodites), and any subsequent surgery is outwardly cosmetic but internally, neuters them.
The difficulty is of hormones and emotions.

I believe there's a little bit of man in every woman and a little bit of woman in every man.

So, when the Doctors who deliver the person cannot tell what sex the person is, you’ll be there to help?

@Zeusdelight are there documented validated statistics for this happening? Move along.

@zonavar68 Before I move along: About .02 - .05% is the estimate. Selma Feldman Witchel (2018). "Disorders of Sex Development". Best Practice & Research. Clinical Obstetrics & Gynaecology. 48: 90–102. doi:10.1016/j.bpobgyn.2017.11.005. PMC 5866176. PMID 29503125. The estimated frequency of genital ambiguity is reported to be in the range of 1:2000–1:4500.
So move along and have a read.
