Anyway i fxcking hate myself. I dont know if i should take him to the emergency vet now or wait

Last night my dog had chicken bones when I wasn't watching. It's been almost 24 hours and he's eating and playing, his gums are fine. He's a little runny but his stomach bothers him if he eats human food regardless. I thought everything was fine but he walks in and bright red blood is dripping down his aśs-- but there wasn't any in is stool when I took him outside before. And he's bled like this before after having chicken breast

I just spent $700 at the doctor yesterday and will spend several hundred more my next visit and the third. I love my dog and I wouldn't be able able live with myself if me not watching my fxcking food led to his death. I'm dressed to take him now. I think I'm going to. Hes acting fine but I can't take the risk. I'm just never spending money on my own fxcking health again after this

You sound like a really caring owner, honey. Don't beat yourself up about it; even the best of us have slip-ups with our furry friends, no matter what standards we try to hold ourselves to. I'm sure they would love us all the same if they understood, knowing that we're doing our best to care for them and all. 🌺

If the bone was from raw chicken, he's fine. If it was cooked, he may have a problem. When the bone is cooked, it's bad because the bone can splinter and get stuck.

feeding bone can be dangerous but a lot of people like those in comments dont know this
and its why i have been able to see two dogs die from this within the past few years
i would take him in as soon as you can

You sound like a really caring owner who’s being far too hard on themself
How’s the pup?
@JRVanguard he seems to be doing okay- they ended up not doing x-rays at the vet bc they found the source of his bleeding and it wasn't from a bone. so I'm just monitoring him for a few more days

@TeamSkullGrunt Oh I’m so glad!
You did a great job watching over him
Hoping for a speedy recovery for him🧡
Dogs are scavengers.. he’ll be fine

I’d feel the same way if my pup was sick
