That is so motherly. You will do well as a mom

That is awesome strength on your behalf. Many people can't change, even for their kids.

You want to take care of yourself and your health to be there for him. Believe me, he’s gonna need you for the next 18 years at least 🥺

Aw I was wondering if you still drank or not. That's good to hear. I quit before Naya's first birthday. I was still drinking after she was born but after going to jail I was like nah nothing is worth taking me away from my kid

There is no such thing as "use to be an alcoholic". You use to drink to excess but now you don't. That's the only thing that's changed. Once you become addicted to anything, you remain addicted to that "thing" for life.
If you were once a confirmed alcoholic which of course you say you were, then you will always be an alcoholic even if you don't drink alcohol anymore.
The correct terminology for that situation is "recovering alcoholic".
That is why if you even have one drink with friends today, you will be right back to where you left off after you had your last drink, whenever that was.
Don't ever delude yourself into thinking that you are just a "social drinker" if you happen to have one or two drinks with friends over dinner. 💜
