Hard to resist alcohol. Advice

I find it hard to resist alcohol. Right now having anti depressants which isn't good to mix with alcohol. So I just had 2 sips, then put the beer in the fridge for later. I just wonder what it is I'm supposed to do? Anyone got the same problem?

Nothing will happen or change if you can't commit to full open sobriety, and that depends on your relationship with alcohol. Are you just looking to cut back or control it? Or at rock bottom?
Is it a daily need, where you're telling yourself (can be subconsciously), you need it to move forward with your day? Do you hide it, as in you go out of your way to make (best attempt) sure no one is aware of (they are).

If any of these were answered yes, see your PCP, and ask if there's anything that could be done to help with quitting alcohol alongside your anxiety/depression treatment.

Next let everyone you are close to know that you're attempting sobriety, family and close friends should do their best, to help back-up you up. If everyone is aware of it, then that's a large part of mitigating the anxiety during the process. A good support team helps a lot.

@Levenrack I hide it and I am at rock bottom with this. I just wish I never started with alcohol so I wouldnt have reached this point. Severe alcoholism runs in my family. My uncle has the hugest beer belly. I sometimes laugh myself off, but I realize that I have reached a bad point.

Alcohol raises blood estrogen up to 300%. It's why heavy beer drinkers usually look pregnant. It affects your system like sugar. If you give it up long enough, the cravings go away.

i like alcohol but not too often... like 1 or max 2 times per week is okay
Find something else that can distract you long enough that your body can go through the withdrawal.

Join AA if you haven't got the willpower to kick it on your own

@ArtieKat I dont understand what you mean, my mom fed me alcohol as a kid (she didnt love us, so I was drunk aged 5, she was a shitty mom, tell u that, then as an adult i noticed i was a severe alcholic, but im trying to fix it thats why i only had two sips of the beer since youre not supposed to mix alcohol with anti depressants), so thats what I mean by that. Im gonna join AA, thats for sure. I looked it up in my city where the nearest ones meet, they meet at saturdays near the mall.

Quit buying it for starters and just get something else to drink like a soda or water
