The struggle

In 2011 I quit drinking because of how it was effecting my behavior and attitude. The "fun drinking" made way for anger and poor judgement.

I made it to 2019 when I had champagne on my wedding anniversary and that started the downward spiral again. So much that it didn't matter if it was 4pm or 4am, I was downing 4 to 5 shots of whiskey in a matter of ten minutes, daily.

It put me deep into depression and everyone became my enemy in my mind. I've reached the lowest point in my life.

Today, I'm 36 days sober and it has been a struggle. Last week especially. When the mind overthinks everything I want to dive back into the bottle to numb it all.

I'm staying the course.

This is been a very inspiring read. You are strong, courages, and committed. Life throws curve balls, and you are now dodging them. I'm really proud of you as I'd say those 36 days were extremely challenging. Hang in there and take it day by day just as you have been. Your stronger than temptation and you deserve to be sober! ❤️

@Dusty101 Also trying to keep from thinking too much about everything else going on in my life. I've had 5 full days of peace.

@Spumoni I hope you enjoyed that peace.
Over thinking can naturally creep up and it's a rotten game changer.
Glad you got the peace! 🤗🤗🤗

@Dusty101 Had an AA meeting last night, met a guy that is pretty involved in the program. He called me this morning to check on me. Last night was tough.
