My nerdy friend: Dungeons and Dragons and anything with dragons is considered nerdy, but I don’t get it, dragons are cool. [I Love Drugs]

When I think of dragons and other cool mythical critters and how they don't scare us anymore, I think of my cat Ptolemy, now he always had the jitters about something and I think it was because he didn't know whether the scary images he conjured up in his head real or not. We are pretty bloody certain there are no dragons, and if one shows up we have the technology to blow it up, but just think, you could have been born at a time when just like my cat, you didn't know whether the scary images you conjured up in your head either from stories or from your own imagination was actually real or not. And just how frightening that thought could be, so when people talk about how dragons are nerdy and silly and what not, well, once there was a time when perhaps even their name was enough to cause the same dread felt amongst some people at the very mention of the name Lucifer or Satan. Pure mythology, but even they're enough to give folk these days the heeby jeebies.
