A black person from Russia… I was not expecting that 😯

I saw his first name listed as “Леонид” (translates to Leonid). Of course, I can’t read the language, but I recognize the characters as Russian and first thought “Oh okay, this dude’s from Russia.” But when I was introduced to Leonid, I was not expecting him to be black. Then he introduced himself with a thick Russian accent and immediately asked with said accent “Not used to seeing to black Russian are you?” I laughed and admitted it was my first time ever meeting one. He told me he gets that all the time since he’s been in the US. Seems like a friendly fellow, anyhow, and I look forward to working with him.
