Usually when people talk about cancel culture, they're referring to this side of YouTube lol

@Fishy somewhat related, but i wonder what 'cancel culture' really is. Like that's a term that's been used a lot in the last several years, but groups of people have always been cancelled, in way more extreme ways, by society. I feel like it's only talked about now like it's a huge issue only bc people who previously could get away with shit are actually held accountable and want to be a victim

@deadgerbil Yeah, I suppose its an ambiguous term these days

But my impression of cancel culture is when influencers or content creators get massive backlash, sometimes for things that weren't even a big deal

back in 2015/16 I remember an artist I watched was bullied to the point of a suicide attempt because she drew Steven Universe fanart in her own style but her style made Rose Quarts look too thin :/
