Has democracy failed enough yet for peasants to accept they need a feudalism as much as their lord needs them?

I'd argue that we're basically already in a state of neo-feudalism given how everything is pretty much owned by a few companies and the rest of us don't have much of a choice but to work for given that they've eliminated most of the competition
