Why would someone get upset about you calling them a stranger? I've been talking with them for 5 months and don't understand them so it's not my fault

My family are strangers to me after the stunt they pulled on me....im only legally bound to them in serious matters.

Often times when I don’t see them for awhile and I run into them,I’ll say hey stranger, long time no see 💁‍♂️
So many connotations( an idea or feeling that a word invokes in addition to its literal or primary meaning). 🙆‍♂️

Sounds more like an acquaintance than a stranger. A stranger is someone id think you never talked to before.

If they’re confusing it’s probably because they can’t keep their lies straight.

Language barrier? Maybe they thought you said they’re strange?
