I once saw them labelled "Tups" and "Ewes", in a cafeteria: I thought, that's going to baffle some townies.
Reminds me of a cartoon from years ago, by Osbert Lancaster I think? - with his regular Lord and Lady Littlehampton characters. The couple had evidently just arrived in Greece, the toilet doors are labelled by words not pictograms, he is trying to work out which is which. Lady Littlehampton is saying, "Fat lot of good a Classical education did you!"
