Yep, so it's not just cutting off 17 million people. It's cutting off the 17 million people who need it the most.

@NerdyPotato Reminds me of when Maine decided to do this similar thing (require 20 hours of work/volunteer/training) and they discovered that .000006% weren't doing that, so they cut them off. While that's a fairly insignificant percentage, that was the number of people who couldn't work, couldn't volunteer, couldn't do training to various reasons, one of them very well may be that they literally have no way to get to work/programs because they cannot afford a car.
This ableist thinking of "if they really want it, they will do whatever they can to get it" completely overlooks the millions who need it and absolutely can't fulfill the obligations. Not everyone in the US is a fit, 20-30 some, white man, but when it comes to these programs, that is always the default.
We aren't a lazy population. We are quite the opposite. Many want to work but physically can't and the system has made it impossible to rise above. Now, we're just going to kill them so we don't have to think about them.
Very "GATTACA" of them.

@FoxyQueen yep, people are very quick to assume that if someone doesn't work, it's because they're lazy. And if they think it may be because of a disability, they quickly jump to "if you can't work, why should we care if you survive" because that's what life is for, right? 😐
