You're right, you shouldn't have to suffer and you never should feel as if you are begging. It's humiliating to say the least. I understand there's an opiate issue currently, however, pain medication is designed for people like yourself who actually need it. I'm fortunate to have a Dr. who has no issues prescribing. Maybe you should try another physician.
Wish I could now, no one wants the blame if I get addicted it seems....so instead of providing decent patient care, my oncologist will pass the buck to my GP. When she finally called me it felt like she wanted to argue with me ☹️ I finally said, “so you’re saying you won’t give me pain meds now?” She changed her tune and gave me some. @Mikla

Did they tell you to take Tylenol instead? If not, you are lucky. I need surgery, and it is being put off till the last day of forever apparently, and some days I am in terrible pain, and can't sleep. The receptionist told me to take Tylenol.

I completely understand after going through shingles. Too many people are way undermedicated because the drug got abused. I would think there would be more common sense when prescribing. Certain conditions are well known for their pain level.
I don't know if you could get to a pain clinic and get better management that way? I hope you find relief.

And it's everyone that questions. Sometimes even family and friends.
