I Am Tired of Having to Explain My Pain and Need of Pain Meds

When I initially went through chemo treatment I was given opiates designed for cancer patients- I didn’t have to ask.
Now?
It’s like I have to beg. ☹️
I’m doing my best to get my health back but if I can’t even sleep I’m not getting well. I shouldn’t have to suffer.

You're right, you shouldn't have to suffer and you never should feel as if you are begging. It's humiliating to say the least. I understand there's an opiate issue currently, however, pain medication is designed for people like yourself who actually need it. I'm fortunate to have a Dr. who has no issues prescribing. Maybe you should try another physician.

Wish I could now, no one wants the blame if I get addicted it seems....so instead of providing decent patient care, my oncologist will pass the buck to my GP. When she finally called me it felt like she wanted to argue with me ☹️ I finally said, “so you’re saying you won’t give me pain meds now?” She changed her tune and gave me some. @Mikla
